For the 2011 Office Christmas Party, the Inters where given the task of organising the entire event. This meant sorting a the venue, a theme, entertainment, food & drink for just over 150 people! We decided on the theme “The Circus” and chose to host the event at Cafe 1001 just of Brick Lane in East London.
The event was fancy dress and we organised to have a popcorn, candy floss, pic’n’mix, buffet food, cocktails on arrival, a magician, a DJ and also an instant photobooth. It took us all day to set up and decorate the venue with balloons, vintage circus posters and bunting. We even twisted crape paper and stripy sheets of material to create canopy like big top effects to the venue entrance.
We hired the popcorn, candy floss and pic’n’mix from Candy Buffets. Two of their staff came to the event to man the stalls for the evening, they were really friendly and got everything ready in good time. They also left quickly and left us with all the remaining sweets from the pic’n’mix stand.
My favourite entertainment for the evening was the Photobooth. When searching around for a company to use, there appeared to be so much competition, it was almost a case of seeing which one was available for the date we wanted. A few got back to us, but a lot of them were so over priced for what they were and even worse some charged extra for the prints on top of the actual hire!
In the end we went with Rentabooth, who I couldn’t recommend more! When booking the booth, we had no trouble with T&C’s or costing. They were straight forward and not pretentious like some of the other companies we’d spoken with. The Rentabooth is also very informative and covers all the questions you might have.
“How many of us went to Woolworths when we were teenagers and spent a few minutes having fun in the passport kiosk and then waited, what seemed like ages, to see the results?”

The above quote from their website sums the company up completely. They know what people want out of a photobooth experience and they don’t set loads of rules around how many people can have their photo taken at once etc. In fact, one of the staff said to me that they’d managed to fit 14 people in the photobooth at one time! Rentabooth anticipated lots of tipsy adults stumbling into the booth, pulling outrageous expressions. They joined in and laughed along with us. I would recommend them 100%.
