Weekend Adventures

This weekend, I travelled up to Nottingham for a friends birthday celebrations. I took the day off work on Friday to go house hunting in Notts as I’m looking for student accommodation for my final year at Nottingham Trent. On Saturday, I took a trip into the city centre to purchase a new outfit for the evening. As usual, I relied on Topshop to be my fairy godmother!

I found an amazing pair of marble high waisted shorts which I decided to team with a scallop vest top.

BLACK SCALLOP VEST £15.00

BRIGHT MARBLE HIGH WAIST SHORTS £30.00

I completed the outfit with a long pendent necklace, black tights and my trusty Deena And Ozzy black suede chelsea boots. Deena And Ozzy sell footwear at Urban Outfitters. The pair I have are no longer available, but similar styles are being introduced in the new season, here’s the best example I can find… Deena & Ozzy Black Chelsea Boots

All dressed up, my friends and I started with cocktails are The House of Coco Tang. A regular hang out on student nights, when cocktails are two for one. We only stayed for one, so we didn’t break our bank balances!

Coco Tang offers an extensive range of award winning cocktails, all made with fresh ingredients by professional cocktail makers right in front of you. For a more detailed review, check out this one I found on Impact Magazine – Coco Tang Review by Niall Farmer

To end the night we went to Bar Bar in the Lace Market, I wouldn’t really recommend it to non-students. Although, its great for cheap drinks and shots. When Googled, I find barely any info, it only opened up about a year ago, but is always pretty busy and offers chart music, which is always fun to dance too!

While I’m on the topic of Bars and Nottingham, I would like to recommend another place that I didn’t go to this weekend, but love equally the same. Brass Monkey was apparently Nottingham’s first cocktail bar (known as the ‘style’ bar), it opened in 1999 so has been around for a while i.e. they know what they’re doing!

My favourite cocktail by Brass Monkey is the Au Pear, click here to view the pdf menu.

This week : I’m off to Germany on Thursday for our company ski trip! Looking forward to keeping you posted and letting you know how it goes! Have a good week!
