Back in July, I published a Style Scrapbook & Wish List – consider that Spring / Summer 2012 and this Autumn / Winter 2012. It’s a bit of a pointless post, but my recent outfit purchases and combinations might inspire somebody out there.
Let’s start with this casual combination of converse, leather jacket and a delicate top I’ve been wearing with jeans. I purchase the jacket from the Warehouse concession in Debenhams in Cork Ireland, I paid 70 euros for it. It’s retailing here at £46 in John Lewis. It’s a great fit and keeps you warm, well made and a soft leather to touch. The Embellished Cage Vest top is from Topshop, currently priced at £36. The straps connecting to the neckline have tiny silver sequins sewn on them, the back of the top is longer than the front which is useful when wearing with leggings. I bought the converses at the end of summer and have worn them 50% of the time since I got them, I used to have a pair of purple high top converse when I was about 15 – I loved them at the time but they quickly went out of fashion. I’m so glad that I’ve invested in a pair now though as they are so practical but still look great and are mega comfortable.
Outfit number two, is one I’ve worn out a couple of times this term. The top is from River Island and available in cream or navy blue as well. The back of the top is tied together by a long ribbon satin bow. The front of the top is floaty and best worn with a strapless bra or bandeau. I’ve borrowed my housemate’s Topshop wet-look leggings which I think go really well and continue with the dressy look instead of just wearing plain cotton leggings. The shoes are from New Look (where else?), this pair are no longer available to purchase but New Look is the best place to go for a pair of black court shoes so definitely go there if you’re after something similar. The Metallic Glitter And Leather Valorie Clutch purse, I unfortunately do not own, it’s a my-wardrobe number. Find something as equally sparkly to match with this outfit to keep it suitable to going out.
Last week, I went to Lost Boyz Club Nottingham at Bodega. This outfit was very comfortable and easy to wear. I wore with black tights and lace up black wedges. The Jersey and Mesh Strappy Body (or leotard) and Aubergine Jersey Skater Skirt are both Topshop and reasonably priced at £18 and £16 (with the skirt being the cheaper priced). I’ve wanted a leopard print belt for a while and always knew River Island would be the place to find one, and I was right! The shop assistant even asked me when I was paying whether I’d found everything I’d been looking for today and I said yes this is exactly what I wanted! The belt was £8. Another item I wore with this outfit was a Zara Necklace, I always find Zara products hard to hunt down online but I’ve found a blog article about the necklace I bought and wore this with – Fallon Vs. Zara, The Brass and Leather Necklace Edition.
This weekend, I went to Zleep at Stealth in Nottingham. The image below, isn’t a great representation of my outfit but similar! I purchased these gorgeous shorts from Republic, Crafted Sequin Hotpants. Again, they are a great fit and not too short like most shorts labbled “hotpants” are. The only annoying thing about them is that the side zip catches a little when doing up which was a little frustrating after a few drinks. I teamed the shorts with a black scallop top I already owned from Topshop and a bluey-black necklace. I wore the outfit with black pumps as that was the most suitable pair of shoes for Stealth.
Some casual wear I’ve recently purchased includes the ASOS Knitted Hood Parka With PU Trim in Khaki retailing at £75. Luckily when I purchased it I saved 25% using the UNiDAYS student discount promotion at the time.
I have also bought a couple of pairs of new jeans because I get bored of wearing the standard blue one. The first pair, also ASOS, Skinny Jeans in Tonal Animal Print they are retailing at £35 but I purchased them at £24 when they were on offer. The final pair are a River Island number, Superskinny Amelie Jean in Grey, reasonably priced at £30. That concludes my outfits updates for you all, hope you enjoyed the waffle.
